Painter’s Apprentice Training Program

hiring painters to spray paint

Hiring Painters For:

There’s a difference between being a weekend warrior who’s done some “Do-it-yourself” (DIY) painting, and someone who is trained to be a professional painter, who can CONFIDENTLY tackle even the most challenging projects with a systematic approach.

We understand that you may have limited or no knowledge about how to paint professionally, and that’s OK! We’re here to teach you everything you need to know in order to run a job site. Some examples of what you’ll learn are:
  • A comprehensive communication process that ensures you, the client, and the project manager are always on the same page
  • How to pick the right roller or brush for the job
  • Which ladders/scaffolding you’ll need to access hard to reach areas
  • SAFETY FIRST! We always want you to go home at the end of the day without injury or incident, so safe work practices are part of everything we do
  • How to protect floors, furniture, and fixtures
  • The best way to clean up a mess when it happens…. and they DO happen!
  • How to repair wall damage and match textures
  • The best ways to inspect your work to ensure client satisfaction
  • How to identify areas that need certain primers or specialty paints
  • How to select the right primers and paints for a project
  • The proper way to clean a paintbrush
  • How to use an airless paint sprayer
  • How to operate an electric scissor lift(including a safety certification that’s good anywhere you go)
  • How to use project management and time tracking software to help measure your progress, and make sure you get paid fairly
…..and so much more!

Our goal is to train our team members to think and act as the managers of each project, with 100% accountability for the end result. As you reach clearly defined milestones in our program, you will be offered the opportunity for advancement, which comes with a higher pay grade.

How fast you work your way up though our company and pay rates is totally up to YOU!

We have procedures to test your skill set before you move on, but the quicker you learn, the faster you’ll grow with our team!

We offer the option to our more senior apprentices, to learn how they can set up their own business entity including accounting and insurance, if they wish to become their own boss. We’re happy to see our candidates progress through our training program, and the ones who ultimately form their own crews are always going to be our first pick when we use subcontractors for a job. If you become a top producer, we can keep you busy with a steady stream of work to do at your own pace!

Painting is a skill that will always be in demand, and that demand is only increasing. If you want to learn from a company who truly cares about their team’s success, as well as client satisfaction and world-class craftsmanship, then please fill out our application below.

We’d love to hear from you!

Please keep in mind that we generally only offer interior painting services, which allows us to work year-round. We also offer after-hours and overnight commercial painting, so the availability and willingness to do this type of work is a factor in our selection.

We ask you specific questions about your availability on the application, so please make sure you take the time to consider your answers, because reliability is extremely important to us!

Thank you in advance for taking the time to contact our company about this opportunity!

Application for Employment:

*If you have any questions, or are unsure how to answer, please do your best to complete this form anyway. We will contact you to clarify if we can't figure out your responses.

  • First & Last
  • What city do you live in?
  • Careful - if it's not correct, we can't contact you
  • A smart-phone is a must with fluency in texting, emailing, and apps
  • Please list the name of someone who can tell us about your character, who is familiar with your moral judgment and your general attitude towards others. No friends or family members please. This should be someone such as a soccer coach, the pastor at your church, your school guidance counselor, your scout leader, or the leader of a community organization you belong to. We need their name, number, and what their relationship is to you, please.
  • Please list 3 references. We will be calling them! We need their name, contact number, and dates you worked there (mm/yy format is fine):
How much painting have you done?
  • 0 - No experience at all, 5 - Flawless
  • Do you have a valid, unrestricted drivers' license?
Are you able to transport yourself from jobsite to jobsite throughout the work day? (along with materials & equipment needed)
We pay all of our team members through payroll, we do not pay cash. Ever. Please indicate the status of your employability:
  • Considerate smokers/chewers/vape users leave no ashes or butts, they do not smell like cigarette smoke when they arrive at a job site, they do not spit anywhere on the ground or in trash cans, and they do not smoke/vape/chew anywhere that is visible to our clients or other team members. We do not allow any of this behavior on our job sites, and we do not give “smoke breaks”. If your habits don’t fit into this definition of considerate, then you will not be a good fit for our team, so please answer honestly.
  • Work locations change constantly. We work throughout the greater Austin area, which means you may need to travel up to an hour in any direction from downtown Austin). You will still be required to be onsite in a timely manner, regardless of traffic conditions, how far you live from the job site, etc., and you may sometimes only be notified of the exact location of the next day’s job site by 7:00pm the night before. Our company maintains a strict attendance policy, because our clients and team members are relying on our word when we create the schedules. If we cannot rely on a team member to be where we(and our clients, suppliers, and other team members) expect them to be, we are VERY quick in determining whether or not they are a good fit for the team.
  • Arriving on time shows respect for your co-workers, your job, and the customer.
  • Do you have any limitations that could prevent you from performing duties common to the painting trade? Afraid of heights? Uncomfortable on ladders? Lifting restrictions? Difficulty distinguishing between colors?
  • (This doesn't have to be paint or construction related!)
What formal group or classroom training have you had? Check all that apply.
